Here you will find information relating to our Solar Energy program, upcoming projects and links to survey's needed for participation in the Tribe's Solar For All program.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Solar For All program is funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and aims to provide solar energy systems at no up front cost to members; adopting and supporting clean energy infrastructure and reducing electricity costs to the members of and the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe.

FSST Buildings and rental units, owned by the tribe have already been earmarked for the program; Homeowner's consent and participation is needed.

4 kW Solar System

Eligible applicants will receive a 4 kW (4,000 kilo watt) grid tied systems based on their energy needs and location. If a recipient has moderate energy consumption and does not reside in a rural area, they will be eligible to receive a 4 kW system, allowing the household to utilize solar energy while being connected to the grid. If the household is a rental unit, the equipment will be owned by the tribe. 

8 kW Solar System

Eligible applicants will receive a 8 kW (8,000 kilo watt) grid tied systems based on their energy needs and location. The 8 kW system will allow the household to utilize solar energy while being connected to the grid and will include a 20kW battery storage solution designed to capture and store excess energy for user during periods of low solar production or power outages, enhancing energy reliability and efficiency.
