Journeyed to the Spirit World: November 2, 2021

Kathy Jo Lovejoy Londo Harr, age 55, of Duluth, MN, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, after a lengthy illness.

Kathy Jo was born on August 31, 1966 in Mahnomen, MN, to Gary and Lauren (Keahna) Lovejoy.   Much of her youth was spent between Naytahwaush, MN and Flandreau, SD.  Kathy was lovingly raised by her aunt and uncle, Adonnis and Merlin Londo, who became strong paternal roles in her life.  After graduating from Flandreau High School, Kathy began working in the healthcare field. She continued her education and received her CNA training.  Later, Kathy worked for the Cass Lake education department as a paraprofessional.  She enjoyed her days taking students on field trips and educational outings.  Kathy loved children and helped them whenever she could.  She lived for a time in Fargo, ND and was instrumental in helping pass North Dakota legislation against domestic violence, an accomplishment she was very proud of.  She spent most of her adult years, living in the Duluth area.  She had a lifelong battle with mental health and alcohol addiction.  Often living on the street herself, Kathy was able to reach many others in her same situation, giving them a kind smile, encouragement and loving support. Using her own life experiences, she worked as a chemical dependency counselor and was active with the Overdose Awareness Program.  Kathy loved to give back to others and helping people when they were in their darkest moments.   Her family was truly the light of her life.  She treasured her children and grandchildren very much. When she was able, Kathy hosted family dinners so everyone could be together.  Kathy also liked to play cards, bingo, and go to the casino.    She had a generous spirit and leaves behind a legacy of kindness.

Kathy is survived by her children: Kyle Lovejoy, Thomas Harr, Kristy Harr, and Allison Conner; her parents: Lauren Lovejoy and Merlin Londo; brothers: Gene Londo, Patrick Londo, Brian Lovejoy, Kenneth Ashing, Chris Londo, and Nathan Londo; sisters: Mary Lovejoy, Laurie Ann Ashing, and Jennifer Scott; her grandchildren: Kyan, Francis, Harrison, Clayton, Cheyenne, and Kyle; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.  She as preceded in death by her mom, Adonnis and her dad, Gary Lovejoy; one son, Alex Conner; and her grandson, Travis.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Naytahwaush, MN.  Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, November 8, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:30 pm.
