Journeyed to the Spirit World: January 2, 2022

Harold “Buzz” G. Rederth, 78, Flandreau, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls. Buzz was born in Pipestone, MN on September 28, 1943 to Arthur and Caroline (Allen) Rederth. Buzz loved spending his days visiting people he loved. Whether he was “Buzz”, “Uncle Buzz”, “Dad”, or “Grandpa”, the visit was always welcomed and left you with a warm smile. He had a heart of gold—if you needed anything, Buzz was there. He loved nature and taught those around him to slow down and appreciate the beauty that it offers. His words of wisdom will be remembered with every soaring eagle, magnificent sunset, and awesome tree. Fly High, Daddio!

Buzz is survived by his daughters: Michelle Red Earth, Kim Red Earth, Kelly (Dave) Ormseth, Merri (Zak) Rederth, Laura Rederth, and Andrea (Ben) Horan; his sister and best friend, Pat (Leroy) Schmidt; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Buzz was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Caroline Rederth; his brother, Daniel Rederth; sisters: Caroline “Hop” (Sorenson) Rederth, Cheryl “Cherry” Rederth, Mary Kaye Rederth, and Donna Rederth; and three grandchildren: Tia Ormseth, Matthew Springer, and Michael Roy.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 6, 2021 at Eastman Hall, Flandreau. All-night wake services will be both Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Eastman Hall, Flandreau. Burial will be at a later date at the First Presbyterian Cemetery, Flandreau.
