Journeyed to the Spirit World: June 6, 2022

David M. Forman, 38, passed away on June 6, 2022, in Flandreau, SD. Dave was born on June 22, 1983, to Doug Forman and Sharon Weston. He graduated from Flandreau High School in 2001, and then worked in construction, first with John Ryan Construction and then with J.C. Ramsdell Enviro Services. Most recently, Dave was employed by the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe as a buffalo herdsman. Dave lived his life in big ways. He had an insatiable appetite for learning. He was incredibly intelligent and capable of remembering the finest details about any given person or subject, which made him quick to engage with strangers or debate with friends. Dave was quick-witted, and rarely had an opinion he didn’t feel like sharing. He was also painfully funny, and conversations with Dave were often punctuated with laughter. Dave enjoyed traveling and going to concerts. He also enjoyed sports betting and watching UFC fights. He was passionate about golf, which he played year-round with some of his closest friends. He also loved to cook, and while he never shied away from adventurous foods, he was best known for his chili. Most of all, Dave absolutely loved spending time with his friends and family. At the center of his life was his father, “Coon,” and his girlfriend of 18 years, Andrea Solem.

Dave is survived by his father, Coon, and his long-time girlfriend, Andrea Solem; siblings, Brenda Weston-Penny and Daniel Weston; nieces and nephews, Tyler, Sage, Hawk, Wyatt, Amaya, Nolan, Morgan, and Hunter; family, Vicki Solem, Byron Solem, Kristine Mawby (Solem), and Brad Mawby; great nephews and niece, Jacob Fisherman, Jack Crawford Jr, Johanna Crawford and many other uncles, aunts, cousins, and beloved friends, who all loved Dave and will miss him tremendously. Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon, brother-in-law, Joe Penny, grandparents, Elmer and Vera (Heminger) Weston and Virgil and Bernice (Gust) Forman.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, June 13, 2022, at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau. Visitation begins at 11am prior to the service at the chapel.
