Charles Leslie Allen, 45, Flandreau, SD passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in Flandreau. Charlie was born in Aberdeen, SD on December 10, 1976 to Samuel Allen and Phylomine (Wolfe) Houle. Charlie was a Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal member and attended school in Flandreau. He lived his life in Flandreau and Turtle Mountain, ND, surrounded by family and friends.
Charlie’s towering stature was able to gain any employment, but his greatest joy was to be near his family. His laugh was so contagious, he was gifted with a good-natured attitude and a brave sense of adventure. He loved music and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Charlie is survived by father, Samuel (Dolores) Allen; mother, Phylomine (Wolfe) Houle; brothers, Philip (Tanya Herrick) Allen, Robert Allen; sisters, Erika (Aaron) Deal, Amber (Aaron Jacques) Allen, Jacqueline Allen; nephews and nieces: Chaske Allen, Tate Allen, Chante Allen, Philip Allen, Jr., Alyssa Anderson, Aaron Jr., Jacques, and Alicia Jacques; paternal aunts: Cyndi Allen-Weddell, Lavonna ‘Bunny’ Allen, Judy Allen, Sally Allen, Linda Allen and Joyce Allen; maternal aunts: Maxine Wolfe, Susan Wolfe, Diana Wolfe, Cindy Wolfe, Francine Wolfe, and Elizabeth Wolfe; maternal uncles: Jon Wolfe and Andy Wolfe and many other family and friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by brothers: Samuel ‘Sammie’ Allen, Jr. and Timothy ‘Timmer’ LaBatte, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Ray and Laverne Allen; maternal grandparents, Alex and Elizabeth Wolfe; paternal aunt, Darlene Bernard; paternal uncles: Chuck Allen, Tom Allen, Bobby Allen, Pete Allen, Clifford Allen, Howard Allen, and James Weddell.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Eastman Hall, Flandreau with burial at First Presbyterian Cemetery, Flandreau. Wake service will be 7:00 pm on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Eastman Hall, Flandreau.
